I sing, write songs, sew, craft, and design. In my day-to-day life, I’m a graphic designer, but honestly, it doesn’t really matter what the project is. As long as I get to make something.
I love coming up with something that doesn’t exist yet and then turning the idea into something beautiful. Maybe that’s why I became a graphic designer. Or maybe I’m simply a Libra: I can’t resist making everything look beautiful, and I can never choose between all the fun projects there are to work on! 😉
A few years ago, another passion joined the mix: writing.
After a wonderful holiday in New Orleans, I started writing You Can’t Stop Karma. At the time, I had no idea I was beginning a series. But once the book was finished, I realised there were still so many ideas waiting to be explored that Instant Karma and Karma Doesn’t Expires followed almost naturally.
The Karma series is about karma, choices, and their consequences. Subjects you could take very seriously — but which also leave plenty of room for humour and all the wonderfully human quirks that come with being, well, human.
Then came Remember and Remember. Once again, the story refused to remain a standalone, and so the Help from Above series was born. This series explores reincarnation, souls, love, choices, and the possibility that our lives may be part of something much greater.
The books are now available in both Dutch and English, as e-books and paperbacks.
What fascinates me most about these subjects are the questions behind them. What happens after we die? Why do some people feel instantly familiar? Do we have a mission to fulfil? And if we have multiple lifetimes, why don’t we remember them?
I don’t have all the answers. And I don’t think I need to.
I love writing about big ideas, but always from a human perspective — with depth, suspense, and the occasional wink.
